CHAPLAINS REPORT
Brothers,
It is an honor to be part of this fraternal Order of
catholic gentlemen and their families too. Actually, I have been in McGregor
now for over 4 years, so I already feel a chaplain connection.
I follow in the fine footsteps of Fr. Leo who is still
recuperating from his heart surgery and is now settled in his new home for
priests in
Fr. Leo Lariviere
N7L 5J9
Thank you, Fr. Leo for being our spiritual chaplain for
nine years here in mighty McGregor. Please continue to pray for us here
at St.Clement Council so we may be a Council of Fraternity and Charity but also
men of God.
Yours in Christ
Fr. Bill Kornacker

Brothers,
As many of you may already know, Father Leo
will not be returning to St Clement but is now living at the retirement home
for priests in
But
we are not without spiritual guidance. Please join me in welcoming Father Bill
K. who has accepted the position as our Chaplain.
On Aug 27 we participated in the annual 25th
International Softball Tournament against the Robert Jones Council in
I would like to thank the helpers from very
busy Sept.16 Spaghetti dinner, firstly my wife Debra, DGK Dale Martin & his
wife Marcella, Brother Gary Gardin & wife Penny, Brother Ulric Renuad &
wife Maryanne & Wayne Hanson. We had a record of 100 people attend the
spaghetti dinner. The attendance is growing for this event so we can use all
the help we can get. Be sure to volunteer.
Now that the month of September has arrived
we are going to be busy with many upcoming events
1. September 23 Fish fry sponsored by the
Squires. Next month the Knights sponsor the fish frys, so brothers please help
when you can!
2. On Sept. 24 back at our hall after 5:00
p.m. mass, we will be having our 2005-2006 Installation of Officers. Joining us
for the installation will be Windsor Council 1453 & our own John Brazil
Squires.
3.
Attention all Past Grand Knights – Bylaws meeting Oct. 7 @
4. K of C annual banquet will be held Nov.
12, 2005, please contact Brother Paul Sylvestre or myself for tickets, get your
tickets early.
Be sure to come out and help the Squires in
some of their fundraiser efforts
- Car wash in our parking lot Oct. 1 from
9-noon
- Bike-a-thon on Oct 2
I would like to encourage every brother to
try to recruit a new member.
St. Clements Council 2844 is a great council because of our membership
- let us share this with other catholic gentlemen in our community.
Fraternally Yours
Dave Taylor
Grand Knight

COLUMBIAN
CLUB REPORT

The good news is that we have finally hired
a new General Manager. His name is Sean
Young. The Columbian Club board is
excited and has great expectations for this gentleman. His computer and management skills are
outstanding. A bonus is his culinary
skills. He has completed courses in
cuisine and pastry at the
I mentioned in the
last newsletter about considering adding Thursdays to the availability for
Broasted Chicken. That decision has been
made and it is now available. In order
to advertise this change, over 1000 flyers were sent out to 2 more postal codes.
New bookings for
our hall are coming in at a good pace and our calendar is filling up
quickly.
Thanks again to
all the board members and to Janice Brockman for all their assistance during
this time of transition.
